Situated at a distance of about 6 km (3 miles) northeast of Naples city of Capodichino district in Italy, lies the country’s busiest Naples International Airport.

The airport has been officially named Aeroporto di Napoli-Capodichino Ugo Niutta, which is named in honor and memory of Ugo Nitta, a World War I pilot. It is also called locally Capodichino Airport or simply Naples Airport. It mainly serves popular European destinations as well as has flights operating to and from other countries around the world.

Operation Hours: Naples International Airport is not open 24 hours. Certain shops, food concessions, on-site accommodation, and public and private transport services may not offer services throughout the day and night. Also, services like airline check-in and baggage drop hours may vary with the flight schedule. Therefore, it is advised that you check with the airport.

Naples International Airport

Naples Airport has a single, main terminal called Terminal 1 that handles all domestic and international flights. It has a Departures Hall, Arrivals Hall, and concourses.

Travelers can easily find various amenities, such as information desks, lounges, ATMs, conference rooms for business travelers, newsagents, courtesy telephones, restaurants, restrooms, facilities for handicapped passengers, retail shopping outlets, ticket counters, baggage claim, and locker facilities, gift shops, transportation, car park and more at the airport.

Naples Airport offers convenient and affordable parking options to travelers. Parking is available between Terminal. One can choose from on-site parking options, off-site car parks, and garages that are located in the nearest proximity to the airport. These consist of short and long-term parking.

Valet Parking:
A Valet Parking service is also available at the airport. You also receive complimentary services, such as window cleaning and interior vacuuming, and luggage assistance.

Free parking at the airport is only offered for a limited period.

There are security checkpoints at the airport’s terminals. All passengers are required to pass through the security checkpoints.

Help Desk

When you are at the Naples International airport and need help, there are information desks to assist you. Here, you can inquire about your flight or find other facilities you may get easily at the airport. These can be found on the ground floor, the Arrivals area. They are open from 4:30 am to 11:30 pm daily.

Wi-Fi and Mobile Charging Points

Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the terminals at the airport, in case you want to connect your smartphone, tablet, or laptop to access the internet. Free Wi-Fi (connect to “Gesac” network) internet is offered with unlimited usage.

In addition to Wi-Fi internet access, mobile and laptop charging power outlets are also available at the airport, in case you need to charge your laptop and/or phone’s battery. These can be at a few spots such as seats and pillars inside the airport.

Baggage Handling and Storage

Luggage Lockers:
Lockers and luggage storage facilities are available at the airport. The facility is located in the Quick Parking Area, outside Arrivals Hall, and is open from 5 am to 10 pm.  The rates per item per day applicable are listed as under:

  • €10 ($11.45 USD) for basic storage (within the storage room).
  • €12 ($13.75 USD) for premium storage (in a private box within the storage room).
  • €12 ($13.75 USD) for basic storage (as above) plus a fast-track ticket.
  • €15 ($17.18 USD) for premium storage (as above) plus a fast-track ticket.
  • €4 ($4.58 USD) for storage of items not permitted through security/onboard.

Luggage Wrapping:
SafeBag offers luggage wrapping services at the airport. Bags are wrapped in plastic to protect them from damage and theft. A fee of €10 ($11.45 USD) per item is charged for the service. The facility is located on the landside of the Departures area.

Luggage Trolleys/Carts:
Luggage carts are available at the airport for free. These can be found throughout the airport.

Porter Services:
Porter’s services are not available at the airport.

There is a Baggage Claim facility available at the airport. Make sure to check with your respective airline as to what carry-on items (and their size) are allowed.

Lounge and Business Conference Room

At Naples International Airport, passengers can use public lounges, VIP lounges, and business conference rooms, which may be available for free or paid in order to access these facilities.

VIP Lounge Caruso:
The lounge is located in the airside, Gate C17. Access to the lounge is by paying at the door or via pre-paid lounge pass and lounge membership program.

Casa Alitalia Napoli:
Access to the lounge is offered to First and Business Class travelers. It is located in the airside, Gate C17.

Stores and Duty-Free Shopping

There are plenty of shops that can be easily found throughout the airport’s terminals and concourses. These shops sell a wide range of items, from children’s toys to fashion accessories for adults. You may also buy books, magazines, newspapers, etc., to help pass time during your stopover or flight delay.

Duty-Free stores are also available at the airport that sells all kinds of merchandise, including souvenirs. Two Duty-Free shops, an Express Shop located airside, on the ground floor, and another located airside, on the 1st Floor. These are open from 5:30 am until the departure of the last flight.

There is a CRAI Mini-Market located at the landside of the Arrivals area which is open from 8:30 am to 12 am.

Cafes, Bar, and Restaurants

Finding snack and beverage options should not be a problem as there are many local and popular nationwide food chains at Naples International Airport. These cafeterias and restaurants are located throughout the terminals and concourses, giving you the best options to eat and satisfy your pre-flight craving.

There is a chapel located at the landside of the terminal. The time of opening is from 9 am to 6 pm.

Medical Facility

There is a healthcare facility available at the airport that offers services to passengers in need of emergency treatment. It is located in the Arrivals area, and concourse and is open 24 hours.

The service of Fast Track

A premium Fast Track security pass can cost around €5 ($5.73 USD) that can be purchased at kiosks located landside of the terminal.

Postal Services

There is a post office available at the airport. Passengers can drop their last-minute postcards or letters to family, relatives, or friends. It is located on the landside of Terminal 1 and is open from 8 am to 1:30 pm (Monday–Friday) and 8 am to 12:30 pm on Saturdays.


Showers are available in the VIP Lounge Caruso. Alternatively, you could book a 1-hour stay at the hotel that also offers showers among other facilities with the customers want.


The Tagliati per il success hair salon is located at the landside of the Arrivals area. The opening time is from 8 am to 9 pm (Monday to Saturday).


ATMs are available at the airport. You can swipe your bank card and withdraw cash at the airport’s ATMs if you’re running low on cash or need to make cash payments at other services or stores. You can find ATMs located at the airside and landside areas of the Terminal.

Currency Exchange

The currency used in Naples is Euro (EUR or €). Currency exchange facilities are available at the airport and are operated by Travelex. Currency exchange counters are located in the Arrivals concourse (open from 8 am to 11:30 pm) and the Check-in area (open from 5:30 am to 10 pm).

Banking Services

Banking facilities are available at the airport. Banking services are operated by Intesa Sanpaolo which has its counter located at the landside.

If you are traveling in Naples and need local arrangements or help with planning your fast and last-minute trip abroad, there is Dusila Travel Agent with its office located on the landside, Ground Floor. Their office is open from 9 am till 7 pm on weekdays and 10 am till 6 pm on weekends.

The hotel is located about a hundred meters from the airport. It offers sleep capsules and bathrooms which may cost around €8 ($9.16 USD) for up to 1 hour, €15 ($17.18 USD) for up to 2 hours, €21 ($24.06 USD) for up to 3 hours, €25 ($28.64 USD) for 4 to 9 hours and €50 ($57.27 USD) for an entire day.

Capodichino International Hotel:
The hotel is located about 10 minutes’ walking distance from the airport. There is no airport shuttle service available.

Millennium Gold Hotel:
The hotel is located about 10 minutes’ walking distance from the airport. There is no airport shuttle service available. However, a taxi is suggested.

Ground Transport Options To and From Naples International Airport

Getting to and from Naples International Airport should not be much of a hassle as you will find transport options. You can quickly find a convenient mode of transportation to meet your travel needs. There are several ground transportation options available to travelers that make visiting nearby places and other places of interest very convenient, quick, and affordable.

Many travelers often find shuttle services to be very favorable as it saves them plenty of time when getting to hotels and/or airports. Free shuttle buses provide travelers with easy connectivity. Also, there may be a few hotels in the city and adjoining areas that provide free or on-demand shuttle services to and from the airport.
