- Non-refundable tickets that did not fly on the date of travel, but canceled in compliance with Southwest’s No Show Policy, that tickets can be extended to future travel up to one year from the original date of purchase. The person named on the ticket must use all of the travel funds.
- In consideration of the current travel climate, Southwest Airlines is extending the expiry date of such travel funds:- Customer funds expiring or expiring between 1 March and 31 May 2020 will now expire on 30 June 2021. New generated travel funds due to a flight cancellation between 1 March and 31 May 2020 will have an expiry date of 30 June 2021.
- Southwest’s flight schedule was updated on 19 March, which reduced available seats (ASMs or capacity) by at least 20 percent for the duration between 14 April and 5 June 2020. Such flight schedule cuts are due to the Boeing 737 MAX groundings, in addition to the current effects on capacity. The airline will continue to monitor further cuts to the flight schedule.
