Passengers

Adult Passengers

The passenger whose age is 12 years or 12+ is considered to be in the adult category.

Children Passengers

Age from 2 to 11 years is considered to be children passengers of American Airlines flight.

As of age 5 years or less, they are not permitted to fly alone in any case and will not even consider Unaccompanied Minors. There should travel along with an adult whose age is a minimum of 16 years old.

But passengers on age above 5 but up to 11 years old either have to travel along with adults of least 16 years or can travel alone under Unaccompanied Minors.

Infants as passenger

Passengers who are just born bay or up to 2 years old are considered to be infants by American Airlines, and they do not need booking for seat allocation. Though if you are carrying your infant in a baby car seat, then you have to book a flight seat as a children passenger.

Award type

MileSAAver

Cabins

First Class

There is American Airline’s international first-class cabin which is offered only in the airline’s Boeing 777-300ERs. The seats can fully lie-flat and offer direct aisle access during a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone configuration.

Like the airline’s other premium cabins, the First class offers a wide range of food and beverage options, larger seats, and more amenities at certain airports, e.g., premium lounge access.

Business Class

Business-class is a premium cabin that is offered in only some Boeing 757-200s aircraft but also in all airbus A330-300, airbus A330-200s, Boeing 777-300ERs, Boeing 767-300ERs, Boeing 777-200ERs, Boeing 787-9s, and Boeing 787-9s. All the seats are full lie-flat seats. Boeing 757-200 doesn’t give direct aisle access to each seat.

Transcontinental

American has dedicated 17 Airbus A321s (A321T) in their fleet for the precise use of flying transcontinental routes between Los Angeles and New York JFK, Boston and Los Angeles, and New York JFK and San Francisco.

These aircraft offer two premium cabins, First Class and Business Class, which are unique among domestic mainline aircraft in American Airlines’ fleet. Both cabins have full lie-flat seats; First Class also includes direct aisle access from each seat.

Domestic First Class
