In this guide, we are going to take a look at a few important terms and conditions that are laid down by Frontier Airlines.
What are the Terms and Conditions?
Generally speaking, a company or organization, whether small, medium, or even a large-scale entity, must prepare and publish terms and conditions for its business. These so-called “terms and conditions” is, in fact, a sort of legal obligation that binds both the business entity and its clients or customers.
Frontier Airlines too, has its own share of terms and conditions, also referred to as rules and restrictions that illustrate the working of the company and also the legalities that are laid upon its customers. We shall learn more about this in the following section.
Know All About Frontier Airlines’ Terms and Conditions
Given below are excerpts of important terms and conditions of Frontier Airlines that you should take note of.
Check-in Requirements
Passengers and their baggage must be checked in at least 45 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights and 60 minutes prior to departure for international flights. Government-issued photo identification is required for all passengers. Passengers traveling across any international boundary are responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents and for complying with all government immigration and customs requirements. Passengers may be denied boarding if travel documents are not in order. Passengers must be at the gate 20 minutes prior to departure for boarding or reservations are subject to cancellation.
Baggage Information Requirements and Restrictions
Carry-on bags can be no larger than 24″H, 16″W, 10″D (including handles, wheels, and straps) and no heavier than 35 pounds. Carry-on bags must fit in the overhead bin. Carry-on bag prices vary based on when you purchase and are non-refundable.
Checked bags must be within 62 linear inches (that’s length + width + depth) and no heavier than 50 pounds. Baggage that goes over these limits will be charged an additional $75 for exceeding weight and an additional $75 for exceeding linear inch limits. Bags are not accepted if they are over 100 lbs and/or over 110 linear inches. FRONTIER Miles Award Redemption Tickets have the same baggage allowance.
Passengers who purchased THE WORKS always receive a free checked bag. Checked bag charges vary based on when you purchase and fees are non-refundable.
FRONTIER Miles Elite members and passengers who purchased THE WORKS always receive a free carry-on bag in addition to their personal items. If you arrive at the gate with a carry-on bag that exceeds the allowable dimensions, you will have an additional charge to gate-check the bag.
Coats, diaper bags when traveling with an infant, canes, crutches, Portable Oxygen Concentrators, respiratory devices, or any other assistive devices, and foot rugs for use during prayer are all free to carry on in addition to your one personal item.
Frontier welcomes U.S. military passengers onboard and extends the following baggage waivers when presenting a Common Access Card (CAC) with a uniformed services affiliation at check-in:
- One free personal item
- One free carry-on bag
- Two free checked bags
These baggage waivers apply to an individual with active duty status and do not extend to family members or traveling companions. All baggage accepted by U.S. military passengers must comply with baggage acceptance policies regarding size and weight limits. Oversize and overweight baggage fees are waived for the first two free checked bags.
U.S. military passengers are defined as active duty armed forces, reserves, and national guard.
Prohibited items include weapons (or anything that could be used as a weapon or to inflict bodily harm), explosives, or incendiaries. Review a list provided by the TSA of permitted and prohibited items that may be included in carry-on baggage including the 3-1-1 Liquids Rule.
Flight and Ticket Cancellation
Except for tickets purchased for travel within 7 days (168 hours), all tickets may be canceled for a full refund up to 24 hours after the time of purchase. You can request a refund on your Manage My Booking page by logging into My Trip or through Frontier Reservations at +1 (801) 401-9000.
Tickets must be canceled prior to the departure of a flight in order to retain their value. Failure to show will result in a credit of the fare, fees, and taxes attributable to the no-show portion of the itinerary, and the application of a service charge in an amount equal to the credited amount.
Overbooking Flights
When a seat cannot be provided due to an inadequate number of seats for the number of passengers holding confirmed reservations (overbooking), no one will be denied a seat until airport personnel first ask for volunteers willing to give up their reservation in exchange for a payment of the airline’s choosing.
If there are not enough volunteers, passengers will be denied boarding in accordance with a particular boarding priority. With few exceptions, including failure to comply with the carrier’s check-in deadline, which is available upon request from the air carrier, persons denied boarding involuntarily are entitled to compensation governed by Federal Regulation 14 CFR 250.5. The complete rules for the payment of compensation and boarding priorities are available at all airport ticket counters and boarding locations.
Form of Payment
Frontier only accepts credit or debit cards as a form of payment for tickets and fees. Cash, personal checks, cashier’s checks, traveler’s checks, and money orders are not accepted.
