About Airport’s Terminal

Hamburg Airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 2 (T2). All departures are handled in Level 1 and all arrivals are handled in Level 0. Both terminals are interconnected via the Airport Plaza, which itself has a consolidated security area and other facilities, including the S-Bahn suburban railway station.

Airport Office can assist you with general queries about the airport, flights, hotel reservations, deposit keys, documents, faxing and copying, and more. It is located in the Airport Plaza, Arrivals Level.

Wi-Fi and Device Charging Stations

Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the terminals at the airport, in case you want to connect your smartphone, tablet, or laptop to access the internet. Free Wi-Fi (connect to “HAM AIRPORT FREE WIFI” network) internet service is offered for up to 24 hours. However, passengers are required to register with their e-mail address in order to receive passwords to access the wireless internet.

There are internet kiosks available as well. These are located on the landside of T2, Arrivals (3 workstations and a printer); the airside of Level 1, Pier, at Gates A18-20, A21-26, and Gate A/B37.

In addition to Wi-Fi internet access, mobile and laptop charging power outlets are also available throughout the airport, in case you need to charge your laptop and/or phone’s battery.

Baggage Handling and Storage

Luggage Lockers: Lockers and luggage storage facilities are available at the airport. Left Luggage provides paid locker facilities and luggage storage services at the airport. A €3 ($3.52 USD) processing fee is required in addition to the fees for storing items. The facility is located at the Departures level, Terminal 2.

Luggage Wrapping: Luggage wrapping services are available at the airport. Bags are wrapped in plastic to protect them from damage and theft. It is located near the Check-in area.

Luggage Trolleys/Carts: Luggage carts are available at the airport. These can be found in front of terminals and parking lots.

Porter Services: Porter services are not available at the airport.

There is a Baggage Claim facility available at the airport.

Prayer Room: The airport offers a prayer room located on Level 2, Terminal 1. It is open from 0600 till 2200 hours.

Children’s Play Area: The airport offers a play zone for children. These are located on the airside of both Terminals 1 and 2, Level 3.

Strollers: Strollers are available from the airside of Hamburg Airport Livery.

Dental Clinic: tryDent dental clinic is located on the landside of Airport Plaza, Level 2.

Medical Services: The German Red Cross (DRK) medical center at the airport caters to passengers that are in need of emergency medical care. The facility is located near Departures, Terminal 2. It is open from 0500 till 2300 hours.

Pharmacy: Metropolitan Pharmacy in Arrivals, Level 0, Airport Plaza. It is open from 0700 till 2100 hours on weekdays and 0800 till 2100 hours on weekends.

Massage: The Chi Mas Institute offers both traditional Chinese and western massage and acupuncture treatments. It is located in the Pier, at Gates A20 and C15, Level 1, Departures.

Shower: You can use the premium shower facility at the airport to refresh yourself after a long flight. A fee of €5,00 ($5.87 USD) is charged with shampoo included. An additional fee of €10,00 ($11.75 USD) will be charged if you require a towel. The facility is located in Airport Plaza, Arrivals Level and Terminal 2, Arrivals Level.

Laundry: Laundry services are offered by ZWO24Textilpflege at the airport. It is located on the landside of Level 0, Terminal 1.

Casino: The Spiel-In Casino is Hamburg Airport’s “little Las Vegas”. It is located on the landside of Terminal 1, Level 2. It is open from 1200 till 2400 hours.

Observation Deck: When you have plenty of time at the airport, simply relax and watch planes take off and land from the vantage point of the airport’s observation deck. It is located in the adjoining Model Exhibition; Terminal 1, HMS Host Terrace, and Terminal 2, Mövenpick Terrace. Access to this facility is permitted between the hours of 0900 and 1700 hours.

Hamburg Card: The airport offers a premium Hamburg Card to passengers for ease of public transportation. The Hamburg Card includes unlimited rides on public transportation in Hamburg city and discounts of up to 50% on restaurants, shops, and popular attractions.

The cost of the Hamburg Card starts at €10,50 ($12.33 USD) for an entire day’s validity and another cost around €21.90 ($25.73 USD) for an entire day plus regional routes. Additional days can also be added to either card.

Hamburg Cards are sold at The Airport Office located at the Arrivals level, Hamburg Tourist Information Offices, HVV service points, and ticket machines.
