Situated in the city of Khimki, less than 20 km from the northwest of central Moscow, lies the Sheremetyevo International Airport. It is the most massive and busiest airport in Russia. The airport recently was renamed Sheremetyevo Alexander S. Pushkin International Airport, although its original name is still used extensively.

It used to be a military airfield for the Soviet Air Force before turning into a commercial airport in 1959.

Operation Hours: Sheremetyevo International Airport is open 24 hours. However, certain shops, food concessions, and public and private transport services may not offer their services throughout day and night. Airport Terminals

Sheremetyevo International Airport has a total of five terminals, namely Terminals A, B, C, D, E, and F. It has North and South complexes. The North Complex consists of Terminals A (private jets) and B (Domestic flights). The South Complex consists of Terminals D, E, and F, and homes most global flights. The two complexes are about 10 minutes apart and are connected by using an underground train. A new Terminal C opened in January 2020

A few lounges are currently closed for renovation. These are Classica Lounge (Terminal D, Airside, 4th Floor) and Jazz Business Lounge (Terminal D, Airside, 4th Floor).

You will find a few stores throughout the airport’s terminal and concourses. These shops sell a wide range of items – from children’s toys to fashion accessories. You can also buy books, magazines, etc., to help pass time.

Duty-free stores are available at the airport, as well as a good selection of shops selling everything from leather goods and souvenirs. Duty-Free is available throughout the terminals. There is also a large selection of stores. Globus Gourmet Express sells grocery items, baked products, home-cooked meals to go, etc. It is located in Terminals D and E, Arrivals area. The Minimarket is located landside, in Terminal F, and is open 24 hours.

Cafes, Bar, and Restaurants

Finding fast food options should not be a problem as there are many local and popular nationwide food chains at Sheremetyevo International Airport. The airport offers a play area for children. It is located in Terminal D, Airside, and is open from 8 am to 8 pm.

ATMs are available at the airport. You can swipe your bank card and withdraw cash at the airport’s ATM if you’re running low on cash or need to make cash payments at other services or stores. You can find ATMs located at the airside and landside, throughout the terminals.

Currency Exchange Counter:

The currency used in Moscow (Russia) is the Rubles. Currency exchange counters are located in Terminal B, landside, Terminal D, landside (Arrivals) and airside, Terminal E, landside (Arrivals) and airside, Terminal F, landside (Arrivals), and airside and Aeroexpress (Landside).

Post Office:

There is a post office at the airport that allows passengers to send their last-minute postcards to friends and family. It is located in Terminal F, the landside, and is open from 8 am to 8 pm.

Skype Booth:

The airport also provides Skype booths for text and video communication via the internet whenever you need it. Passengers can use the Skype internet video-calling service after check-in. All they have to do is to call “svo_checkin” and follow the officer’s instructions given there. During the check-in, passengers will be asked to show their passports and tell the officer the date of the flight and the number of their e-tickets.

The hotel is located in the transit area of Terminal D, Airside, 3rd Floor, and the 3rd level of Aeroexpress Terminal, Landside.  It offers 36 capsule rooms, all equipped with air temperature control, separate lockers, and free WiFi.  Showers are also available within the facilities. The rate varies from 550 ₽ per hour (day use) to 1650 ₽ per 3 hours (overnight).

GoSleep Capsules:
This hotel with capsule rooms is located in the International Departures area of Terminal E, on the 3rd Floor. Travelers can also book rooms upon arrival. Rates during the day can cost 250 ₽ for an hour and 350 ₽ for an hour at night.

Radisson Blu Hotel Sheremetyevo Airport:
The hotel is connected to the airport via a walkway and is located on the 3rd Floor, in the Departures area between Terminals D, E, and F. It offers a free shuttle service that is also shared with Park Inn and operates at a frequency of 30 minutes between the hotel and Terminals D, E, and F.

Park Inn by Radisson Sheremetyevo Airport Hotel:
The hotel is located about 3 minutes from the airport, within walking distance from Terminals D, E, and F. There is a free shuttle service offered, which is shared with Radisson Blu and operates at a frequency of 30 minutes between the hotel and Terminals D, E, and F.

Novotel Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport:
The hotel is located just 5 minutes of walking distance from Terminal 2. There is a free shuttle bus available to and from Terminals D, E, and F every 20 minutes (6 am to 10 pm) and every 30 minutes (10 pm to 6 am). Shuttle buses to and from Terminals B and C are also available hourly and upon request.

Transport Options To and From Sheremetyevo International Airport
