Austrian Airlines Baggage Policy

Allowance for unused baggage and additional luggage

Are there any things that Austrian Airlines may not allow in their checked luggage allowance?

Austrian Airlines Sports Equipments Policy

Austrian Airlines allows you to carry a wide range of sports equipment with you. To a limit, the airline does not charge you for the equipment but every sports equipment differs from each other and they differ in dimensions and weight as well so, price varies from item to item.

If your equipment comes under the check-in baggage weight of 32 kg then you don’t need to pay any surplus amount. If some item is considered oversize then the airline may ask you to pay for the extra weight. You also have to mention your item to the airline at least 72 hours from your departure so that they can help you to manage in providing the best available space.

Austrian Airlines Pet Policy

On Austrian Airlines, You are allowed to bring your pet (dogs and cats) to travel in the cabin if you are above 18 years along with the pet id tag and license. The pet will only be allowed to board a flight if it is carried in a carrier comfortably in which a pet can easily sit, stand or turn around. The carrier should fit under the front seat of the passenger the dimensions must not exceed 118 cm (55 x 40 x 23 cm). and the combined weight of your pet and the carrier must not exceed 8 kg total. There are some big pets that come under 14 kg, the airline also allows them to travel with the owner of the pet but you have to buy a specific seat for the pet, and must be in a comfortable carrier.

The pet must be in good health condition and vaccinated and must be 16 weeks old. If you want your pet a confirmed seat then you should contact the airline within 48 hours so that the airline can help you to arrange the best seat for your pet.
