Brussels Airlines check-in & boarding pass process

In case, you have forgotten to choose a seat for you at the time of booking and reservation, then here the seat can easily be assigned to you. All you have to do is click on the seat number which is mentioned on your boarding pass and you select a new preferable seat online or via mobile. 

For passengers who are traveling to the UK, China, Canada, or the United States then the Additional Passenger Information (API) is mandatory to submit. 

The additional information you will have to provide at the time of booking your flight. In case the API data has been found to be lost from your booking then the Brussels Automated Check-in will not be implemented for you. And you will receive a notification instead.

Brussels online check-in

People who prefer to check-in online instead of waiting and standing in long queues can easily do their web or online check-in process 24 hours up to 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure time for a flight.

Steps to check-in online and access boarding pass

  • Firstly go to the official website of Brussels Airlines and log in to your registered account or id. If you don’t have a registered id then you can do it without a login id.
  • This step navigates to you on the home page of Brussels Airlines, you can see the check-in tab on the right side of the screen at the menubar you just have to click on it.
  • The next step is to choose your action. Click on the check-in now button.
  • The next steps are to enter your last name, and the confirmation number (PNR)you got when you booked your itinerary.
  • After entering the details you will be able to retrieve your ticket then the next step is to pay for your baggage and choose your seat.
  • Access your boarding pass and save it to your mobile phone device or then print your hard copy of your boarding pass. Another way to get the boarding pass is, you can also collect your boarding pass from a self-service Kiosk or check-in counter.
  • Go to the dedicated “Drop-off” counters or desks for luggage if you have any and check-in at the airport. If you are traveling without luggage then you can easily proceed to your gate.

Brussels online check-in also lets passengers select their preferred seats on the plane. Also, they can get their printed boarding passes at home. Brussels online Check-in is easily available for all Brussels Airlines flights but mentioned flights departing from Bastia, Ibiza, and Olbia will not allow passengers to a web or online check-in.

For flights that are departing from Moscow, Marrakesh, and Mumbai, there will be needed a hard copy of the boarding pass or printed boarding passes will be required. Therefore, do all your preparations in terms of having printed boarding passes before going to the airport for flying.

Note: you can make any changes to your flight after the check-in but you need to contact the booking counter before the departure of the scheduled flight.

Brussels mobile check-in

Choose your desired seat on the plane and also get your boarding pass on your phone in the form of a barcode with the Brussels Mobile Check-in. It is all up to you that you can get your boarding passes in your email inbox or on your mobile phone through SMS. It is recommended to save this barcode on your mobile phone, so you won’t need to connect to the internet again. On your iPhone, you can send your boarding pass to the Passbook app.

The app is available on Google Play as well as App Store.

In order to use the Brussels Mobile Check-in option, passengers can use the Brussels Airlines app or they can visit m.brusselsairlines.com. Make sure you check in either with an app or visit the website 24 hours up to 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure for all Brussels Airlines flights except flights that are departing from Enfidha, Dubrovnik, Ohrid, Split, Tivat, and Zadar.

Brussels Mobile Check-in can also be done even if the airport does not use a mobile boarding pass scanning system or machine. In this case, all you have to do is make yourself available at the airport check-in counters to scan the mobile boarding pass. Also, you can consult at the baggage drop-off area to get your boarding pass reprinted.

For passengers who are traveling to Canada, the US, the UK, and China it is compulsory for them to fill in details for the Advance Passenger Information (API). Otherwise, you will only receive a receipt instead of a boarding pass and you will have to go to a check-in counter at the airport for completing your check-in process. But the cancellation is not allowed after the check-in so be careful before check-in through online platforms and mobiles.

Brussels express check-in

Passengers can also use Brussels express Check-in option or Machines for all European flights operated by Brussels Airlines at Brussels Airport. In the self-service machines located in the departure hall, passengers traveling with a Check&Go or b.light economy ticket are allowed to check-in. Passengers traveling with checked luggage would then move to the counter to drop off the luggage.

Brussels Check-In Time

The earliest and latest check-in times vary depending on the airport and the destination. Want to avoid airport lines? Online check-in is the best option, and online check-in begins 24 hours before departure.

When will you be able to check-in at Brussels Airport?
Arrive at the airport early enough to check in your luggage, pass through security screening, and proceed to your departure gate. The recommended time for arrival at the airport for clearing all the formalities is:

For Short-haul flights reach at least 2 hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time.
For Long-haul flights, you should reach 3 hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time.

Return flight within 24 hours

Passengers who are returning from the checked-in destination within 24 hours, also can check-in for their return flight at the same time.
