Official requirements for Aeroflot pet policy

  4. And In the end, keep a veterinary first aid kit with you if required, and also consult your pet’s veterinary doctor with all the safety measures taken when making your pet ready for a flight.

  4. You must be careful that you should not book your seat in the row of emergency exit or near the seats where your co-passengers are traveling with baby or children and even nearby the seats where other pet carrier passengers sitting except pets are familiar with each other or from the same family.
  5. Your pet carriage box must not create a hurdle in between the regular service of cabin staff.
  6. While the pet is traveling in the cabin, the owner should be aware of the fact that the pet should be clean, hygienic, and odorless.

NOT ALLOWED: you can’t open the carriage or container of the pet in the cabin, or in the washroom, or in the entrance of the gate. Nor even to feed your pet in flight.

Pet containers whose weight exceeds 8kg including the box but less than 50 kg in total then your pet will be transported as a baggage hold. Or even if your box/container in which your pet will be flying will exceed the estimated height, the width of the airlines, then also they will be flying in a baggage department of the Aeroflot airlines.

  1. The weight of the animal or bird must not be above 50 kg which even includes the weight of the baggage hold.
  2. You can have more than one pet baggage hold, though you have to pay for each of them.
  3. It is restricted that every hold must be having only one pet, i.e not more than one is allowed.

Pet Carrier

If you want to travel with your pet in a cabin, then you must have to use a closed-type carrier either a container or a soft pet carrier.

If you use a hard container then the dimension (length × width × height) should not be exceeded by 44 cm × 30 cm × 26 cm. Whereas if you use the soft carrier for your pet to travel in the cabin, then its dimension should not exceed 126 cm in total.

In your pet carrier, your pet should be relaxed and in a comfortably moving position at 360 degrees, also the carrier must have enough space to stand the pet properly.

The carrier should have proper ventilation and a proper lock to prevent your pets from others.

The bottom surface of your pet carrier should be in solid form and moisture-proof, so it can control the liquid leakage in the passengers’ cabin. You should have covered with dry and soft bedding in order to maintain hygiene during the travel.

Pets check-in at the airport

Things pet owners must present at check-in

  1. You have to show them the veterinarian report of your pet with all the vaccination done and the isolation period over. Moreover, a certificate from the doctor that yes, your pet is performing well with their health and ready to fly, which must be at least 5 days before your flight. Earlier certificated may not be accepted.
  2. You have to place legislation documents regarding the approval of your pet transported from the origin country, or destination if the case is required.
  3. If you are placing your pet as a guide pet (usually a dog) which is having free charges for carriage, then you have to submit the certification of disability you are having and even the certification of your dog to be well trained.
  4. Even for an emotional support dog, you have to place a certificate or document with the doctor saying that you are dependent on the dog emotionally.
  5. If you are from Federal Executive Authority Canine Service and carrying a service dog, then you must represent your dog’s special certificate confirming that they are specially trained for being the service dog and even your certificate that says that you are the original employee of Federal Executive Authority Canine Service with permission of holding service dog with you.

IMPORTANT: According to Aeroflot pet policy, passengers traveling with assistance dogs or guide dogs, i.e pets without a box or container are allowed to board the flight at first before every other co-passengers will board the flight

Things that may lead to canceling a pet’s check-in

You should be making up your mind if in case these happen, Airlines can refuse your pet to travel on a flight.

  1. If you didn’t get confirmation or agreement done in advance, then the carriage of the pet is canceled.
  2. Pet, whose breed is other than the for which affiliation is done by the passengers, i.e different from the mentioned breed.

  6. If your aircraft in which you will about to fly don’t have proper ventilation or appropriate temperature control for your pet in the baggage department of the aircraft, then also airline refuses to take your pet to fly.

If your pet has a threat to health or affects the safety measures of other passengers

  • If you should have the confirmed veterinary document for being the good health of your pet.
  • If the pet container or cage or box in which pet is to be carried is not up to the limits or measures of airlines.
  • If at the time of flight in-cabin your pet doesn’t have a collar, muzzle or leash or owner of the pet fails to handle their pet behavior or pets are not doing according to the orders of the owner and showing an aggressive behavior that may affect other co-passengers then also airlines can refuse to have a flight with such pets.
