Ques: How can I choose or change my seat?
Answer: You can select seats or change seat assignments for most flights operated by United Airlines and United Express on united.com, United App, or through your travel agency. If there is no seat allocation, you can check it closer to the departure point to see if the seat is available. Learn more about seating options.
You can also ask at the boarding gate whether a United Airlines representative wants to change seats or purchase EconomyPlus® seats (if available) and whether they have not yet purchased a basic economy class ticket. Seats may sometimes be changed after boarding, but please do not change seats without asking the flight attendants in advance.
Ques: Can I pick or change my seat if I am traveling on a basic economy ticket?
Answer: In basic economy class, you will be automatically assigned a seat before boarding, and you will not be able to change the seat after the assignment. Pre-designated seats can be purchased during the booking period and at the beginning until check-in procedures.
Ques: Can I pay for my checked bags online before my flight?
Answer: You can pay for checked baggage before the flight in two ways.
The first method is to pay for checked baggage online at least 24 hours before the flight.
The second method is to pay for checked baggage on united.com during check-in. During the check-in process, enter your credit card information, and we will immediately charge your credit card based on the number of luggage you specified during online check-in.
If you pay for checked baggage during online check-in, the baggage will not be refunded.

Answer: For operational reasons, we may reserve some seats temporarily and do not allow selection or change of basic economy class tickets. If you cannot choose a seat, we will assign you a seat at the check-in counter or boarding gate.

Answer: The power outlets are available on certain aircraft but not all, although you can check out if your upcoming flight has these following amenities or not within 72 hours of your departure, keep in mind that if there is a change in the aircraft then the amenities you would have got might also change.

Answer: You should personally report all damaged items before leaving the airport. The damaged items need to be provided for inspection at the airport, and our personnel will be responsible for the final settlement of your damage claim.
