The airport is named in honor and memory of Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, who had served as the 49th President of Mexico. It is also called locally Puerto Vallarta International Airport, which is named after the country’s beach resort city.

Puerto Vallarta International Airport has two terminal buildings, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. While all national and international destinations are handled at Terminal 1, on the other hand, Terminal is used specifically by Aerotron’s private jets. The main passenger terminal is connected via shuttles and walkways for convenience.

VIP Lounge Puerto Vallarta Llegadas: The lounge is located in the arrivals area, right after migrations and check-point area, Terminal 1. Snacks and beverages are also served to passengers while they wait for transportation. It is open for service from 10:00 till 18:00 hours.

However, there are courtesy shuttle services available from the airport.

The companies or agencies that offer car hire/rental services at the airport include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Europcar, FOX, Hertz, National, Thrift, and U-Save.

Taxi Service

Taxis are available 24 hours, if you need a ride to a hotel or want to go sight-seeing. Fares are charged by taximeters. Taxi stands can be found on-site, on the ground-level transportation area of Terminal 1, Domestic and Arrivals.

It is advised to travelers to approach the taxi booth located inside the terminal, where tickets will be issued according to destination. The ticket can then be given to the taxi driver before riding.

There will be many unlicensed taxis outside the airport, where the drivers will aggressively try to persuade arriving passengers and with rather a difficult chance of negotiating fares, and compromising safety.

So, it’s better to avoid them and hire a ride from the licensed taxi service operators only.

Ride Sharing Service
