Hainan Airlines Baggage Allowance
If you are quite confused about the terms, carry-on and checked baggage and what they mean, then let’s take a quick review of these terms.
By Carry-on or cabin baggage, we refer to the bags that you can take with you into the aircraft cabin and place them into the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.
Checked baggage is those bags that are handed over to the airline at the time of check-in and can be weighed and delivered to the hold of the aircraft.
Let’s see the hand baggage allowance, carry-on baggage allowance, and checked baggage free allowance, or take a look at the weight restrictions and the number of pieces allowed.
Cabin Baggage Policy
Here, the weight concept applies to domestic flights and the piece concept applies to international flights.
As per Hainan Airlines Baggage Policy, for domestic flights, each handbag piece or carry-on
- should not weigh more than 5 kg in weight and
- volume should not exceed 20x45x55 cm.
And for international flights
- Should not weigh more than 22 pounds or 10 kg
- Total dimensions(length+width+height) not more than 45 inches or 115 cm
- Must fit into the overhead bin or beneath the seat in front of you
Now the question is how many bags can you bring, right?
The carry-on baggage allowance depends on the routes also.
Handbags or carry-on bags for domestic flights
- First and Business Class passengers can carry 2 handbags each
- Economy Class passengers can carry only one handbag
Carry-on bag for international flights

Other items that are accepted as carry-on baggage are

- Photograph apparatus bag
Of course, the baggage allowance is different for other international flights.

Your pets, pet crates, and their food do not count as free carry-on allowance.
Other items that can be included as carry-on items for other international flights are
- One coat, shawl, or blanket
- One umbrella or walking stick
- One small camera
- Makeup handbag
- Laptop case
- Baby food products for feeding infants

Delayed Or Damaged Baggage Policy
In recent years, cases of lost or missing bags from different airlines have reduced considerably. Still, it does happen and we think it’s a good idea to take certain precautions so that your bag does not get lost. Be more careful if you have a connecting flight during your journey.
Sometimes you might be required to collect your bags at baggage claim, recheck in and drop off your bags again when you have a connecting flight.
Ensure that the bag tag is nicely attached to your luggage. Keep the second bag tag with you in case they give you one and do not lose it. You might need the details while reporting a missing bag
It would be a good idea to save a copy of your ticket inside your bag and contact information also may be somewhere on top of the bag where the airline staff can view it easily in case it gets lost.
Moreover, it would be a good idea to take a picture of your bag.
Try to check in early
Unfortunately, in case your bags go missing, the airline will help you in all ways possible and can trace your bag with the help of the Baggage Tracking System and keep you updated.
In case your bag is damaged, contact the airline staff before leaving the airport or within 7 days of arrival.
To conclude, hope this article cleared your doubts about the Hainan Airlines Baggage Policy
