COVID-19 Update Asiana Airlines Cancellation:

The airline has been changing its policies to provide more flexibility to its passengers. Let’s have a look at that:

1. Change fees are waived for international flights:- The airline offers you to reissue your flight tickets without paying any additional charges. Your ticket must be issued on or before Oct 31, 2021.

☛ Details on waiver

  • Your date must be issued between March 10, 2020, & Oct 31, 2021.
  • Your flight departure schedule should be after March 10, 2020.
  • Some more conditions are:
    • You will not have to bear the reissue fee for once, if your flight reservation is issued from April 01, 2021.
    • You are allowed to make a change in your ticket two times without paying the reissue charges, if your ticket is issued between Mar 10, 2020, & Mar 31, 2021.
    • You can change flight date or route within the validity of the original ticket.
    • If the fare of a new flight ticket is higher than the original one, then you are responsible for the fare difference and tax.

☛ Applicable Routes

  • If your flight will depart from South Korea or international gateways (except mileage tickets).
  • The ticket is booked through the travel agency and codeshare flights are also included.
  • Your unused or partially used tickets are also included.

2. Refund and reissue rules:- COVID-19 guidelines for making changes in the ticket or getting a refund. You are eligible to get a refund for the following cases:

☛ Category 1

  • Your flight to/from the country where the travel is being restricted due to coronavirus.
  • If you are quarantine or your entry is subjected to restriction.
  • Your flight departure date should be between Mar 16, 2020, & Dec 31, 2021. There is no limit for ticket issue date.
  • You may pay the applicable charges:
    • You don’t have to pay any refund penalty.
    • The airline offers the waiver of an extra seat refund penalty.
    • You don’t have to pay any reissue penalty but only for one time.
    • You have the option to extend your partially used ticket until Dec 31, 2021. You are only to do that only for one time and also have to pay the fare/tax difference if any.

☛ Category 2

  • If you are isolated, under medical supervision, emergency restriction due to Military services, & your school is postponed as you are an international student.
  • Your flight departure schedule should be between Jan 24, 2020, & Dec 31, 2021. You are allowed to get a refund or make a change in your ticket with the payment of charges after 1.20 and with departure dates before 12.31.
  • You may pay the applicable charges:
    • You don’t have to pay any refund penalty.
    • The airline offers the waiver of an extra seat refund penalty.
    • You don’t have to pay any reissue penalty but only for one time.
    • You have the option to extend your partially used ticket until Dec 31, 2021. You are only to do that only for one time and also have to pay the fare/tax difference if any.
    • If you want to change your flight schedule, you are allowed to do that only once within ticket validity. You may bear the extra fare and/or taxes.

☛ Category 3

  • If your flight is departing to china with transit in Korea, you must have the negative reports of PCR & IGM tests as is required by the Chinese government.
  • Your ticket should be purchased after Nov 10, 2020. Along with that, the departure date of your flight should be up to Dec 31, 2021.
  • You may pay the applicable charges:
    • You don’t have to pay any refund penalty.
    • The airline offers the waiver of an extra seat refund penalty.
    • You don’t have to pay any reissue penalty but only for one time.
    • You are only allowed to change your reservation only with the valid period and you have to bear the fare difference and tax.

Asiana Airlines Cancellation or Change Policy:
